On Veterans Day, our nation celebrated the 89th anniversary of the end of the war to end all wars. Now in this season of peace on Earth and good will to all, we mark the fifth Christmas that we have been at war in Iraq.
What have we learned in the last 89 years? That war is inevitable? I say no. But war is a choice we have made again and again in our history, and it is a choice that yields increasingly devastating consequences.
